THE JAY AND J CONNECTION The first verifiable documented sighting of Ollie and Pookaberry in cyberspace occurred when Jay, a teenage Elephant and heir to Dee’s Nuts one of the largest international importers of shelled and unshelled nuts and J-short for Javier- a Jumbo Brazilian Peanut who was miss-sorted into a bag of cashews were playing Whirled Peas, an old arcade style video game their uncle Willy had stuck up in the attic. The game, which Willy had used for parts, was not in working condition and was being stored in the attic when a flying saucer pulsed a beam of plasma though the attic window and struck the machine which immediately came to life, Jay and J heard the strange sounds coming from the attic and ran upstairs to investigate. When they reached the machine the intro was playing when it ended they were prompted to enter the game which they did and became the first terrestrial beings to access Ollie and Pookaberry through the internet. According to reports which have only recently surfaced, the Ollie/Pookaberry-J/Jay/Uncle Willy connection is far more complex than the official story, it seems that Jay and J, while out for a joy ride in one of Jay’s Uncle Willy’s Kit cars stumbled across Purgle, an Alien from Planet Pooka living in the swamp where his spaceship had recently crashed. Jay and J rushed back to the farm and led Willy who followed them in a wrecker back out to the crash site, after a little negotiation over price-converting the currency from IS(intergalactic specie) to USD caused more than a little confusion- Willy agreed to take Purgle’s ship back to the shop and fix it for him. When Willy returned with the repaired ship Purgle was so thrilled that he invited Jay, J and Uncle Willy to fly to his home planet Pooka which they gladly accepted. When they arrived there they met Interim Plemora Proboscis who introduced them to all the archons and learned about their eon long conflict with the evil Purrgatorians on Planet Purga. After an eventful stay throughout which they were celebrated in accolades for fixing Purgle’s ship, they flew back with Stereotype, a robot retrofitted with a torso speaker and a digital music player in his head. On the flight back Stereotype revealed to Jay how Ollie the Octopus had rescued the Pookas who had been enslaved on planet Purga and brought them back to the safety of the Garden Cavern, and how Ollie was charged by the fatally wounded Plemora Pookaloopa to evacuate the Pookas from the compromised Garden Cavern in his newly refurbished intergalactic starship to sanctuary on Planet Pooka. Stereotype dropped Jay, J and Uncle Willy off in a cornfield near Willy’s farm. After hovering overhead long enough to attract the attention of a handful of UFO enthusiasts who always manage to be driving down lonely one lane roads in the sticks after midnight in pickups with cam corders, Stereotype adjusted the twin nuclear antigravity amplifiers and rose silently into the path of a plodding commercial aircraft flying over Georgia which was in the process of releasing a frozen cube of sewage from it’s lavatories, an operation known in commercial aviation parlance as dropping the Southern Popsicle- a pulsed plasma beam automatically emitted by the spaceship as a warning to other objects flying in close vicinity ricocheted of the sewage cube, through the atmosphere, where it honed in on Uncle Willy’s satellite, and shot through the attic window of the farmhouse striking the Whirled Peas Arcade style video game in the attic.
